Precision Block Academy Open Registration from Quilting Affection

I hope everyone is enjoying the new year so far. It's my pleasure to announce Precision Block Academy (PBA) is open for new students. Just what is PBA? Precision Block Academy (PBA) teaches quilters how to make better blocks so they can make better quilts with less stress and frustration.

PBA is built around Studio 180 Design tools that let you design slightly oversized units, then trim them down to the perfect size. So if you have some Studio 180 Tools lying around collecting dust or want tools that will make creating your blocks easier, these are the ones ...

2021 Goal Review and 2022 Goals from Quilting Affection

Happy New Year, everybody! As I wind down the year, I'm looking back on my goals from last year and making some new ones. Then I join my technique pattern editor, Yvonne, who blogs at Quilting Jetgirl, for an Annual Planning Party link-up.

Let's start with my 2021 goals.

Looking back on my 2021 goals, I see they shifted a little bit during the year. I set three goals for 2021, the main goal, three secondary goals. Let's look at these goals and how they worked out this year.

My main goal for the year was to ...

Recently, Studio 180 Design released Twilight Zone, its newest blockbuster. This color play block is made with the Wing Clipper® and Square Squared® tools. The only thing else you'll need is the new Geese of a Feather Technique sheet, depending on how you place the flying geese units.

What Studio 180 Design Tools Should I start with? from Quilting Affection

As a Studio 180 Design Certified Instructor, I am asked many questions about the Studio 180 Design tools.  The number one question I’m asked is What Studio 180 Design Tools should I start with?

My response to this question is you should start with the essential tools. These tools are the Tucker Trimmer I, Wing Clipper I, and Square Squared tool.  The three tools will get you started with basic units that you will see in many quilt patterns and start most quilt projects.

Each tool is multisized with fine lines for accuracy. The tools come with detailed step-by-step ...

Why Should I use the Studio 180 Design Tools? from Quilting Affection

When I started getting back into quilting about ten years ago, I found that I struggled with several areas. First, I was having problems with my points and corners not lining up. Then my finished quilt tops would have fullness in the centers and the borders. Second, I struggled to get my blocks to come out the right size and have everything line up for years. I tried various methods and different tools.

Then around five years ago, I attended one of the Schoolhouse sessions at Quilt Market (Quilt Industry Trade Show) and saw a demonstration of the Studio 180 ...
